BASF Hit by Counterfeits! Six Suspects Arrested, 321 Fake Labels Exposed!
Dear customers, partners and all friends who follow BASF:
As a global leader in the chemical industry, BASF's Auxiliaries business unit has always been innovative in the development and production of excellent auxiliaries products, which are widely used in construction, automotive and industrial coatings, printing and packaging, adhesives and other fields. Basf auxiliaries, with their superior performance, have firmly established a benchmark position in the market and won wide acclaim as a raw material brand. Among them, Efka® as a registered trademark of BASF, its auxiliary products are renowned in the market for their excellent quality, and its iconic orange packaging has become a unique symbol of the product.
Recently, we regret to discover that in Guangdong and Hunan, there are illegal elements selling fake BASF brand Efka® EFka auxiliary products through online platforms. In response to these egregious violations of our brand rights and interests, our company has taken swift action and submitted a report to the Fengxian Branch of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau. With the rapid response and efficient work of the police, in the "Sword 2024" special operation at the end of August, with the assistance of the police in other provinces and cities, a criminal gang of counterfeit registered trademarks was successfully destroyed, six suspects were arrested, and a total of 321 fake Efka® product labels were seized, as well as a batch of imitation orange bucket packaging.
At present, the two online stores involved have been closed according to law, and six suspects, Peng Mou and Huang Mou, have been taken criminal compulsory measures by the police according to law for suspected counterfeiting of registered trademarks.
Basf is firmly opposed to any form of counterfeiting. Such behavior not only seriously infringes the intellectual property rights of our company, but also poses a direct and serious threat to the legitimate rights and interests of consumers. Our company strongly condemns such acts and will continue to work closely with law enforcement and take all necessary and legal means to severely hold infringers accountable.
Here, we also urge our customers and dealers to be vigilant and pay attention to identifying genuine and fake products. At the same time, BASF will reserve the right to pursue trademark infringement through legal channels in order to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests and market order. The right to act to protect the interests of dealers and customers. Please contact our sales team to purchase BASF products from regular channels. Thank you for your cooperation.
