Hempel Launches Infinity Silicone Hull Paint Charger for Yachts
Hempel A/S has launched the world’s first and only underwater performance charger specifically for use with Hempel’s yacht silicone systems. Simply applied over the existing Hempel silicone coating at scheduled maintenance intervals, Hempel’s Infinity extends the silicone performance of your hull coating for one season.
Hempel’s Infinity eliminates the need for repainting, resulting in less work, lower overall costs and less paint, resulting in more time on the water.
“Hempel’s Infinity is our most significant innovation in the yachting sector since the launch of Hempel’s Silic One in 2012,” said Thomas Olsen, Director of Yacht Marketing at Hempel A/S. “It has been designed with boat owners’ time and money in mind, enabling them to maintain superior performance year after year in a more sustainable way. I am delighted to launch this ground-breaking innovation and look forward to its success and impact in the market.”
Hempel’s Infinity is simple to apply and requires no sanding, masking or painting. Before Hempel's Infinity can be applied to the entire underwater surface, the underwater area needs to be clean and dry. After an activation time of at least 24 hours, Hempel's Infinity is rinsed with fresh water and the boat is ready for the next sailing season in half the time it would take to apply a traditional antifouling paint.
Hempel's Infinity's patented technology has been developed to complement the hydrogels in the Hempel Silicone System for the yachting market. Hempel's Infinity will be available in a 2.4-liter capacity for DIY and professional use in the EU, with North America to follow.
