Mao Geping Cosmetics prepares to raise HK$2.3 billion in IPO
Mao Geping Cosmetics has passed its first listing hearing and hopes to raise about HK$2.3 billion in its IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
The brand has abandoned its attempt to list in Shanghai after four failed attempts to list since 2016, The Standard reported.
The company reported a profit of RMB 664 million in 2023, with revenue soaring 83% to RMB 2.89 billion.
The Standard reported that since Mao Geping's first attempt at listing, analysts have been closely scrutinizing its business model, product range and R&D spending, and have raised some concerns, such as R&D expenses being less than 1% of revenue and its products mostly being produced by contract manufacturers.
