AkzoNobel supplies coatings for Sinopec overseas construction projects

AkzoNobel's Marine and Protective Coatings business unit has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Sinopec to support the latter's coating supply for overseas construction projects and jointly promote the continued transformation to green energy.

This cooperation builds on the cooperation relationship that began in the early 21st century. AkzoNobel uses its global influence to supply international high-performance coatings products to Sinopec and its subsidiaries' overseas construction projects, including steel structure anti-corrosion coatings, high-temperature special protective coatings, tank chemical corrosion resistant coatings and high-performance fire retardant coatings. They will be used in projects with extremely high quality requirements, such as the construction of refineries, natural gas processing plants and chemical production bases.

Simon Parker, Director of AkzoNobel's Marine and Protective Coatings business unit and member of the Executive Committee, said: "We have successfully cooperated with Sinopec on many milestone projects and are honored to strengthen our partnership, which reflects our common vision for a more sustainable future."

The two parties have cooperated to complete several major projects such as Sinopec Zhenhai Refining and Chemical's million-ton ethylene project and Malaysia's National Petroleum Corporation's RAPID project.

The signing ceremony was held during the 7th China International Import Expo which opened recently in Shanghai.
