OQ Chemicals sells Dutch esters plant to Perstorp
OQ Chemicals has sold its esters plant in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, to Swedish specialty chemicals group Perstorp.
The divestment of the plant in the Port of Amsterdam is part of OQ’s strategic realignment to optimize operational efficiency and drive growth in core business areas. OQ Chemicals will continue to further develop its functional fluids, lubricants and cosmetic ingredients business with its esters plants in Oberhausen, Germany, and Nanjing, China. OQ Chemicals said in a company statement that it remains committed to providing reliable service to its customers and expanding its presence in high-growth markets and applications.
OQ Chemicals’ predecessor company Oxea acquired the esters plant, which has now been sold to Perstorp from ExxonMobil in 2009, to expand its esters capacity and produce specialty products used as precursors for lubricants, flavors and fragrances, pharmaceuticals and high-performance plasticizers.
