BASF and RBTS cooperate on automotive refinish paint business

BASF (China) Co., Ltd. and Bosch Automotive Technology Service (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (RBTS) jointly signed a memorandum of understanding at the Shanghai Frankfurt Auto Parts Show to cooperate on the automotive aftermarket business. The cooperation aims to create an innovation platform to improve the level of the automotive refinish paint industry and provide higher quality and more sustainable solutions.

According to the memorandum, BASF and RBTS will leverage their respective strengths in auto repair station networks, auto repair coatings, body repair and painting services. BASF will provide professional technical training and capability assessment for paint technicians in partner auto repair stations on RBTS's OS3.0 platform. In addition, the two companies will also work together to develop new business models, such as auto repair station refinish paint upgrade projects and certified auto repair station network expansion. The cooperation will start with local business in China and gradually expand to the Asia-Pacific market.
