Hexcel is selecting a successor for its Austrian composites plant
Hexcel Composites and its predecessors in Neumarkt, Austria, have been producing composite materials for the global industrial market since 1947. The company is a producer of glass- and carbon fiber-reinforced epoxy prepregs, glass fiber/epoxy laminates and polyurethane formulations. In addition to wind energy and marine, winter sports and automotive are also important businesses for the plant.
The parent company, Hexcel Corporation, intends to refocus its industrial business on preferred carbon fiber applications that are in line with its core competencies. As a result, Hexcel is exploring strategic options for its operations in Austria and is currently searching for a suitable successor for the Neumarkt plant. Hexcel cannot comment further until this process is complete.
