Hexcel Corporation plans to divest its Austrian operations
Hexcel Corporation intends to refocus its industrial business on preferred carbon fiber applications that are in line with its core competencies. As a result, Hexcel is exploring strategic options for its Austrian operations and is currently searching for a suitable successor for the Neumarkt site. Until this process is complete, Hexcel cannot comment further.
Hexcel Composites and its predecessors in Neumarkt, Austria, have been producing high-quality composite materials for the global industrial market since 1947. The company is a major producer of glass- and carbon fiber-reinforced epoxy prepregs, glass fiber/epoxy laminates and polyurethane formulations. In addition to wind energy and marine, winter sports and automotive are also important businesses for the site.
