Unilever is Rumored to Be Buying Wild for £230 Million

ECHEMI 2025-02-13

Unilever is rumored to be close to agreeing to buy Wild for £230 million. If the deal goes through, it would be one of the most significant deals in the personal care space for the British fast-moving consumer goods manufacturer in recent years. The sale would further strengthen Unilever's portfolio in personal care, which already includes brands such as Dove, Lynx and Axe.

The refillable deodorant brand was founded six years ago and will make its first profit in 2023 with sales of £47 million, Sky News reported, citing industry insiders.

Wild was founded in 2020 by entrepreneurs Charlie Bowes-Lyon and Freddy Ward. The company sells a range of refillable natural deodorants, lip balms, shower gels and hand soaps. The main features of the sustainable brand include biodegradable, compostable and refillable packaging.

Sky News reported that Unilever was interested in Wild because of its sustainable credentials and high-end positioning, which can complement its existing deodorant brands. Both companies declined to comment when contacted by Sky News.
