Bajaj Consumer Care Acquires Vishal Personal Care
Bajaj Consumer Care Limited, a leader in the Indian consumer care space, has announced the acquisition of Vishal Personal Care, which owns the well-known and trusted hair and skin care brand Banjara's.
The announcement was made on February 14, 2025 after the board meeting of Bajaj Consumer Care, which owns the flagship brand Bajaj Almond Drops. This strategic move is in line with Bajaj Consumer Care's (BCCL) vision to expand its presence in the Indian market, tapping into the growing demand for natural and Ayurvedic personal care products.
Under the terms of the agreement, Bajaj Consumer Care will acquire 100% of the company in two phases, first acquiring an initial 49% stake and then acquiring the remaining 51% in the second phase. The transaction is expected to be valued at INR 120 crore, with an enterprise value of approximately INR 108.3 crore.
Jaideep Nandi, Managing Director, Bajaj Consumer Care, explained, "The acquisition of Vishal Personal Care is a strategic move to strengthen Bajaj Consumer Care's presence in five southern markets. The addition of Banjara's to our portfolio strengthens our ability to serve the evolving consumer across India and also complements our product range for further expansion."
