Henkel Acquires Suzhou Bock for Enhanced Local Manufacturing Power
On March 4, Henkel announced the successful acquisition of Suzhou Bock Biotechnology Co., Ltd., a move that significantly strengthens Henkel's local manufacturing capabilities in China. This strategic acquisition lays a solid foundation for sustainable innovation and long-term business growth in a key market.
Suzhou Bock specializes in producing personal care products and has been a trusted partner of Henkel for years. Located in the Taicang Port Economic and Technological Development Zone, this production facility has played a vital role in enhancing Henkel's local supply chain infrastructure. Equipped with advanced production information management systems and various digital solutions, Suzhou Bock can efficiently meet diverse production needs. Following the acquisition, it will serve as Henkel's exclusive manufacturing base, initially focusing on hair care products and paving the way for future expansion.
Frank Labahn, Head of Production Operations and Supply Chain for Henkel Consumer Brands in Asia, stated, "This acquisition is a key strategic move for Henkel to deepen regional development and strengthen our supply chain. China plays a critical role in our production layout. This investment not only enhances our local manufacturing strength but also aligns closely with our strategy of localized production. It will further drive the growth of our consumer goods business in China, ensuring we can meet the evolving market demands with greater flexibility and efficiency."
Zhong Jingwei, Vice President of Henkel Consumer Brands for Greater China, added, "Last year, Henkel successfully acquired Sassoon and has continued to invest in R&D. The addition of this new production base not only strengthens our market presence but also enhances our ability to serve consumers better, driving customized innovations for the Chinese market. Henkel is committed to meeting the diverse and changing needs of consumers, ensuring our products and brands align closely with their preferences and lifestyles. Looking ahead, this move will provide robust operational support for our sustainable growth and further solidify Henkel's leadership in the Chinese consumer goods sector."
In addition to acquiring Suzhou Bock, Henkel has signed a strategic cooperation memorandum with the Taicang Port Management Committee to deepen their collaboration. Leveraging Taicang Port's geographical advantages, favorable business environment, and talent pool, this partnership will support the expansion of the Suzhou Bock production facility.
On the same day, the launch ceremony for Henkel's consumer brands factory in China took place in the Taicang Port area, marking the beginning of a project to build a globally advanced production base for personal care and hair care products.
