Röhm Reports Pressure Incident at New Texas Plant Affecting Several Workers

On March 10, Röhm announced a pressure incident at its Bay City facility in Texas, which occurred on March 7 during the commissioning of a refrigeration unit. Ammonia vapor was released through a standard pressure relief device.

Currently, several employees from an external contractor on-site were affected and have since received medical treatment. The release has been fully contained, and at no point was the public at risk.

Röhm's new plant in Bay City has not yet commenced operations and is in the final stages of startup. Once operational, it will produce methyl methacrylate (MMA), a crucial raw material for various industrial applications.

Röhm expresses gratitude for the swift response of local emergency personnel and wishes a speedy recovery to all affected individuals. The safety of employees, the community, and the environment remains the company's top priority.
