2025 Strategic Partnership Between Hempel and Bluewater Group
On April 1, 2025, global paint leader Hempel and marine engineering giant Bluewater Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Shanghai, marking the start of a significant partnership in the marine industry. This signing event brought together top executives and core business teams from both organizations, symbolizing a pivotal step towards high-quality development in the marine economy and sustainable marine resource exploration.
As the global marine economy rapidly transitions towards greener and smarter practices, there is a growing demand for high-performance eco-friendly coatings in sectors such as marine engineering equipment, offshore wind energy, and shipbuilding.
With a century of expertise in paint technology, Hempel has been significantly investing in marine research and development. Its products for corrosion protection, anti-fouling, and low-carbon solutions are already widely utilized in ships, offshore platforms, and marine energy facilities. Bluewater Group, a leading entity in China's marine engineering sector, boasts extensive project experience and market resources in deep-sea resource development and marine renewable energy.
Through this collaboration, both companies aim to leverage their strengths in resources, technology, market presence, and branding to jointly expand their business horizons, enhance market competitiveness, and promote sustainable development in the marine industry.
During the signing ceremony, Xu Yujiao, Director of Energy and Infrastructure Business for Hempel in China, stated, “This partnership with Bluewater Group will enable us to better serve our marine industry clients and ensure the long-term stable operation of marine equipment.
