Ineos delays production of French plant
Recently, Ineos Styrolution announced that the company will postpone the commissioning date of its new 500,000-ton/year acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) resin plant in Wengers, France, to the second half of this year. According to sources, Ineos Styrolution initially planned to commission the plant in the first quarter of 2020, but it was later postponed due to technical problems in the plant. Although the construction project was completed on time in the first quarter of this year, there are still technical problems that need to be resolved, and production can only be put into operation in the second half of this year.
The plant was announced by Ineos Styrolution in 2018 to increase ABS production capacity. In addition, Eni Group's chemical business Versalis is increasing the ABS production capacity of its plant in Mantua, Italy by 30,000 tons/year to 95,000 tons/year.
