WACKER Announces Up to 5 Percent Price Hike on Polymers Starting May 1 Amid Rising Costs
WACKER Chemie AG is set to implement a price increase of up to 5% on its emulsion and redispersible polymer powder products produced in Europe and the United States, effective May 1, 2025, or sooner if current customer agreements allow. The adjustment comes as the company faces persistent increases in raw material and logistics expenses.
According to WACKER, the decision is essential to maintain its standards of product quality, innovation, and technical support, while continuing to invest in long-term growth across strategic markets. The company emphasized that its polymer division remains committed to delivering high-performance solutions, even in a cost-pressured environment.
WACKER Polymers is a global leader in polymer-based binders and additives, with technologies built on vinyl acetate-based copolymers and terpolymers. Its diverse product portfolio spans redispersible powders, emulsions, solid resins, and solutions. These materials play vital roles in industries such as construction chemicals, adhesives, coatings, nonwovens, and fiber-reinforced composites, including bio-based alternatives.
As global demand grows and cost pressures mount, WACKER’s strategic price shift aims to secure the sustainability and reliability its partners have come to expect.
