Multinational Ingredient Giant Prinova Completes Acquisition of Brazilian Aplinova
Prinova, an ingredient company under the Nagase Group, recently completed the strategic acquisition of Brazilian specialty ingredient company Aplinova. This is another key layout in the Latin American market after the acquisition of Flavor Tec in 2023. Founded in 1987, Aplinova has an average annual growth of more than 10%. Its newly built Jundiaí plant is equipped with an innovation and R&D center, focusing on the development of natural flavors, functional health ingredients and sugar reduction solutions, and is at the forefront of the industry in ESG standard practices.
The acquisition significantly strengthened Prinova's competitiveness in the Brazilian food, beverage and personal care ingredient market. Group CEO Richard McEvoy pointed out that Aplinova's technical team and localized service network will strengthen Prinova's global supply chain, especially in the field of healthy functional ingredients to form synergies. Masaya Ikemoto, a senior executive of the Nagase Group, emphasized that the two parties are highly compatible in terms of innovation genes and terminal demand insights, and will jointly respond to the global trend of healthy consumption upgrades.
It is worth noting that Aplinova's existing Sao Paulo headquarters and new production base provide Prinova with a strategic fulcrum for radiating the entire South American market. The transaction advisory team was led by IGC Partners in financial due diligence, and Maia Yoshiyasu Advogados and Zavagna Gralha served as legal advisors for both parties.
