China's lysine/threonine exports both fell in April

According to customs statistics, in April 2021, China’s export volume of lysine and lysine salts and esters was 58,500 tons, down 32.4% from the previous month and 29.3% year-on-year. The unit price of China's lysine export in April was 1431.56 US dollars/ton, a year-on-year increase of 57.5%. From January to April in 2021, the export volume of lysine and lysine salts and esters in my country was 268,700 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.8%. From January to April 2021, my country’s lysine exports to some countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas remain high. The top ten countries are the Netherlands, the Russian Federation, Thailand, Poland, Germany, Denmark, Vietnam, Lithuania, Canada, Brazil, my country's exports to the top ten countries accounted for more than half. Among them, exports to the Netherlands were the highest with 27,600 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 21.4%, followed by the Russian Federation, with exports of 18,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 292.4%. The third is Thailand, with an export volume of 17,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.75%. From January to April in 2021, my country’s exports of lysine to the United States amounted to 7740.2 tons, a marked decrease year-on-year, with a decline of 62.1%.


According to customs statistics, in April 2021, China imported approximately 1,4957.8 tons of solid methionine products, a 28% decrease from the previous month and an increase of 24.2% year-on-year. From January to April 2021, my country imported 69,400 tons of solid methionine products, a year-on-year increase of 2.44%. In April 2021, my country’s import volume from Evonik was 9567.5 tons, from Sumitomo was 580.33 tons, and from CJJ was 4,810 tons. From January to April 2021, my country's top three countries in terms of methionine imports are Singapore, Malaysia, and Japan. Among them, imports from Singapore were 34,500 tons, a year-on-year increase of 40.2%, followed by Malaysia's 21,300 tons, a year-on-year increase of 4%, and Japan was 5743.8 tons, a year-on-year increase of 78.7%. From January to April in 2021, my country's methionine imports were US$150 million, an increase of 10.5% year-on-year. The unit price of imports was US$2165.3/ton, a year-on-year increase of 7.9%.


In April 2021, my country exported 7631.8 tons of solid methionine products, a year-on-year increase of 239%. From January to April in 2021, my country's total methionine export volume was 26,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 177.4%. From January to April, the export unit price of methionine in my country was US$2283.2/ton, an increase of 6.56% year-on-year. The top ten countries in terms of export volume from January to April are Germany, the United States, Brazil, Vietnam, Japan, India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, the Philippines, and South Korea. Among them, the export volume to Germany was the highest, 5808.2 tons, an increase of 168.4% year-on-year. Followed by the United States, the export volume was 2447.6 tons, a year-on-year increase of 2542.5%.

According to customs statistics, in April 2021, my country exported 43,800 tons of threonine products, down 23% year-on-year and 26.6% month-on-month. From January to April 2021, my country exported a total of 188,700 tons of threonine products, down 1.89% year-on-year. Affected by raw materials, manufacturers' export quotations are high. From January to April in 2021, the unit price of my country's threonine export was US$1,855.6/ton, a year-on-year decrease of 1.89%. The export value was approximately US$350 million, a year-on-year increase of 37%. From January to April 2021, my country's exports to Europe, Asia, Africa and other regions remain high. The main exporting countries are Brazil, the Netherlands, the Russian Federation, Belgium, Spain, Indonesia, the United States, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Canada, South Korea, Poland, etc. Among them, exports to Brazil were the largest with 20,700 tons, down 1.23% year-on-year, followed by the Netherlands 15,300 tons, up 28.3% year-on-year, and exports to the Russian Federation were 11,900 tons, down 13.35% year-on-year.
