Lanxess Ranks in Top 2 Percent Among 24700 Firms for Climate Transparency
Lanxess has earned an “A” rating from CDP, a leading climate protection disclosure organization, placing it among the top 2% of over 24,700 companies worldwide. The recognition underscores Lanxess’s role as a global leader in climate strategy and environmental transparency.
The “A” grade is CDP’s highest, awarded to companies that demonstrate exceptional climate governance, robust emissions reduction plans, and transparent environmental reporting. Lanxess stood out for its adoption of science-based climate targets and a detailed roadmap toward emission reduction. Since 2012, the specialty chemicals group has consistently submitted climate-related data to CDP.
In addition to its climate performance, Lanxess received an “A-” for water security, reflecting its commitment to sustainable water management practices. This double recognition from CDP reinforces the company’s broader ESG leadership and environmental accountability.
Hubert Fink, a member of Lanxess’s Management Board, emphasized the dual impact of the company’s sustainability efforts: “We’re not only reducing our own footprint but also enabling our customers to hit their climate targets. This rating confirms that we are on the right path.”
CDP, a nonprofit global disclosure system, manages the world’s most comprehensive environmental database, covering over 66% of all listed firms. Its ratings are widely used by investors and institutions to benchmark corporate climate responsibility. For Lanxess, the rating is both validation and momentum to continue advancing sustainable innovation.
