2 Major Leadership Changes Signal Bold New Era for TAQA Starting June 1
On May 29, 2025, global energy and industrial services leader TAQA announced that Khalid Nouh will step down as CEO effective May 31, closing a six-year chapter of strategic transformation and international expansion.
Under Nouh’s tenure since 2019, TAQA evolved into a unified global platform with over 5,500 employees and 12+ business lines. His leadership drove the integration of strategic acquisitions, including Tendeka, AZR, OPT Chemicals, Cougar Drilling Solutions, Oliden Technologies, and AMPS, solidifying TAQA’s position as a fully integrated service provider across drilling, completions, and energy transition domains.
Nouh also spearheaded the creation of TAQA Geothermal, aligned operations to a digital-first structure, and advanced mineral exploration through ARGAS. These moves fueled significant revenue growth and brought TAQA into closer alignment with evolving global energy needs.
Stepping in on June 1 as interim CEO is Adel Al-Ghadhban, a seasoned TAQA veteran with over 30 years in energy and industrial investment. Formerly EVP of Venture Capital and Chief Investment Officer, Al-Ghadhban has led legal, risk, and compliance functions while serving on boards of key subsidiaries including Argas, Cougar Drilling Solutions, and JESCO.
Chairman Ahmed Al Zahrani praised Nouh for shaping TAQA into a global force, and expressed confidence in Al-Ghadhban’s ability to drive performance and innovation in the next growth phase.
TAQA is now poised to accelerate its strategic ambitions, building on the robust foundation established during a transformative era.
