Indonesia Ends Antidumping Investigation on Chinese Synthetic Yarn No Duties Imposed

ECHEMI 2025-06-26

On June 16, 2025, the Indonesian Anti-Dumping Committee (KADI) announced in notice AD.02/253/KADI/06/2025 the decision to terminate the antidumping investigation on synthetic filament yarn originating from China. KADI stated that imposing antidumping duties would not align with national interests, given the domestic supply shortage in Indonesia’s textile industry.

The investigation, initiated on September 12, 2023, targeted Chinese synthetic filament yarn under the tariff codes 5402.33.10, 5402.33.90, 5402.46.10, and 5402.46.90. A final affirmative determination was issued on March 11, 2025, recommending a five-year antidumping duty on the products. However, the Indonesian government has now decided against implementing the measure.

This decision reflects KADI's consideration of domestic industry needs and its efforts to balance import reliance with local production capacity. The termination is expected to support the stability of Indonesia’s textile sector.
