Mercedes-Benz and BASF Renew Partnership in Asia Pacific Covering Key Markets
Mercedes-Benz has renewed its partnership with BASF's premium refinish paint brands Glasurit® and R-M® in the Asia Pacific region, reinforcing BASF’s trusted reputation. Glasurit® is now officially approved for use within Mercedes-Benz’s authorized repair networks in China (including mainland and Taiwan), Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Thailand. This renewal further cements BASF's position as a global strategic partner for the luxury automaker.
In addition to strengthening their collaboration in China, both companies will expand their partnership in Japan, where R-M® has long been a trusted name. Glasurit® is also recognized as the preferred brand in Malaysia and Thailand, showcasing its strong presence in these markets.
Under the renewed agreement, BASF will deliver sustainable solutions to Mercedes-Benz, including the innovative Glasurit® 100 Line waterborne basecoat system and the Refinity® digital management system, supported by the Body Shop BOOST program. Launched in June across the Asia Pacific, this program is designed to enhance repair shop performance and profitability, while minimizing environmental impact.
Susann Kluge, BASF’s Vice President for Automotive Refinish Coatings Solutions in Asia Pacific, said: “We are honored to solidify our long-term collaboration with Mercedes-Benz. This agreement reflects our shared ambition in the dynamic Asia Pacific market and demonstrates our commitment to delivering cutting-edge refinish coating solutions while advancing sustainability and digital transformation.”
Beyond the renewed markets, BASF will continue supporting Mercedes-Benz and its authorized repair centers in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Mongolia, and Singapore, further expanding its footprint.
Michael Hill, Global Strategic Key Account Manager at BASF Automotive Refinish Coatings, added: “This renewed partnership reflects the deep trust and alignment between BASF and Mercedes-Benz on innovation, sustainability, and quality. We are proud to support Mercedes-Benz globally, delivering high-performance products and services across their repair network.”
