Ensinger Expands TECAPOWDER Production with New Facility in Germany by 2027

Ensinger, a global leader in high-performance engineering plastics, is set to expand the production capacity of its TECAPOWDER® polyimide product line. In addition to its current facility in Lenzing, Austria, Ensinger will establish a new production line in Obernburg, Germany, at the ICO industrial center, which is expected to be operational by 2027.

TECAPOWDER, a high-temperature polyimide material, features full solubility, excellent filler properties, and outstanding thermal stability, making it ideal for applications in composites, PTFE matrix systems, battery technology, and the aerospace industry. With rising demand across these sectors, Ensinger’s Lenzing facility has reached its production limits, prompting the need for additional capacity.

The selection of Obernburg was strategic, given its specialized chemical infrastructure, which is critical for TECAPOWDER production due to the use of specific solvents in the manufacturing process. According to Ensinger, the new site will enhance supply security and allow the company to serve its customers flexibly from two production locations.
