Singapore Suspends Poultry Imports from Avian Flu-Affected Areas in Japan
Singapore’s Food Agency has suspended imports of poultry and poultry products from areas within a 10-kilometre zone around the highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak site in Hokkaido, Japan. The measure follows confirmation of HPAI in the region and applies to both raw poultry and derived products. Items that meet the WOAH heat-treatment requirements for virus inactivation will not be affected by the suspension. Singapore will continue to accept poultry products exported from Hokkaido before 22 October 2025 provided the birds were slaughtered on or before 8 October 2025. The move reflects Singapore’s precautionary approach to preventing HPAI transmission through trade.
