UK Proposes Sharp Increase in MRL for Flubendiamide in Tea
The UK Health and Safety Executive has issued notice GB MRL 2025/022 proposing a substantial revision of the maximum residue limit (MRL) for flubendiamide in tea, increasing it from 0.02 mg/kg to 50 mg/kg. The proposed limit, effective from 21 October 2025, represents a shift from an LOQ-based MRL to a significantly higher tolerance level. Flubendiamide is used as an insecticide in tea cultivation, and the revision is expected to align regulatory limits with residue levels associated with authorised use patterns in producing countries.
