This week, the market price of propylene oxide in China has increased (11.3-11.6)
November 06, News
This week, the market price of propylene oxide in China has increased. According to the monitoring system, as of November 6, the benchmark price of propylene oxide was 7,900 CNY per ton, a 2.6% increase compared to November 1.
Price Influencing Factors:
On the raw materials front: The center of gravity in the propylene market has shifted downward, weakening support for the propylene oxide market. As of November 6, the benchmark price for propylene stood at 5,970.75 CNY per ton, down 1.44% from the beginning of this month (6,058.25 CNY per ton).
On the supply side: Fluctuations in supply have contributed to a temporary tightening of propylene oxide availability. Recently, Bohua temporarily reduced production and halted shipments, while most supplies from the Lianyungang region are already booked through mid-to-late October. As a result, the actual volume of available product for sale has fallen short of the theoretical market supply, offsetting any expected increases in market activity and creating a tight supply situation in the short term. This constrained supply has driven up prices for propylene oxide.
Demand side: The downstream demand for propylene oxide in China has been forced to follow, with a strong sense of caution. New order performance is weak, and some companies have experienced inverted market conditions, which has suppressed purchasing power. Overall, the support from the demand side for propylene oxide in the Chinese market is limited. It is expected that the propylene oxide market in China may stabilize after a period of stagnation.
Future Market Prediction:
Epoxy propane analysts believe that the decline in the propylene market, which is a raw material, provides weak support for epoxy propane. Downstream demand support is limited, and purchases are forced to follow, with a strong sense of cautious observation. It is expected that the epoxy propane market may stabilize after a period of stagnation, and more attention should be paid to changes in raw material prices and market supply and demand.
