This Week, Domestic Petrocoke Prices in China See a Slight Increase
November 23rd News
According to the commodity analysis system, the price of petcoke from local refineries in China showed a slight increase this week. As of November 21, the price of petcoke in the Shandong market was 2640.75 CNY/ton, up 1.05% from 2613.25 CNY/ton on November 17.
This week, international crude oil prices edged lower overall, primarily due to the U.S. unveiling a new plan to revive peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, combined with the ongoing momentum of OPEC+ increasing production.
This week, the overall price of petroleum coke from local refineries in China has risen, with some refineries experiencing good sales and fluctuating prices. Recently, some refineries have adjusted their specifications, leading to noticeable changes in coke prices; downstream buyers are purchasing actively, providing support to the petroleum coke market, and refinery sales are satisfactory. This week, imported petroleum coke is mainly fulfilling previous orders, with limited new orders, and prices have dropped slightly.
This week, the market for high-sulfur calcined coke in China has declined, with downstream buyers mostly adopting a wait-and-see attitude, and calcined coke companies being cautious with their quotations.
Market Forecast: Currently, transactions of petroleum coke from independent refineries are moderate, with downstream buyers primarily purchasing based on demand. Some refineries are adjusting prices according to their specific benchmarks. As a result, petroleum coke prices are expected to see a slight increase in the near term.
