Henkel Acquires Sonderhoff Group

Henkel A.G. & Co. KGaA signed an agreement to acquire Sonderhoff Holding GmbH, a privately owned company that offers sealing solutions for industrial assembly.

Sonderhoff is a manufacturer of foamed-in-place gasketing solutions for sealing, and has expertise in developing and manufacturing customized dosing equipment, according to a statement. Foam-based sealing solutions are used in a variety of industrial applications, such as protecting lighting systems, filtration solutions or appliances from humidity and dust.

Sonderhoff's portfolio also includes specialized polyurethane and silicone foams. In the fiscal year 2016, Sonderhoff generated sales of about $66.8 million. The company employs about 280 worldwide, and has subsidiaries in five countries: Germany, Austria, Italy, U.S. and China.
