On July 27, 2021, Novo Nordisk registered the Phase III clinical trial of Semaglutide in the treatment of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) on the drug clinical trial registration and information disclosure platform website.
This international multi-center Phase III clinical program enrolled 1285 patients with NASH, including 1,200 from abroad and 85 from China. A total of 399 clinical centers around the world participated, including 24 in China (including 4 in Taiwan).
Semaglutide has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity, Alzheimer's disease (3700 cases of phase III clinical), NASH (1285 cases of phase III clinical), cardiovascular (CVD), chronic kidney disease (CKD), etc. Many important indications are under active development, and organs such as the brain, liver, heart, and kidney will all benefit from semaglutide.

In 2020, the sales of semaglutide reached 3.51 billion U.S. dollars, which is still in rapid growth, and new indications will further increase sales expectations.
