This Week, China's Titanium Dioxide Market Trended Upward (9.1-9.5)
September 05, News
I. Price Trends
Take sulfate-process rutile titanium dioxide, which sees significant sales volume in the Chinese market, as an example. According to data monitoring, the center of gravity in China's titanium dioxide market has shifted upward this week. At the beginning of the week, the average market price for titanium dioxide in China was 13,480 CNY per ton, while by the weekend, the average price had risen to 13,820 CNY per ton—representing a price increase of 2.52%.
II. Market Analysis
This week, the focus of China's titanium dioxide market has shifted upwards. Currently, cost pressures for titanium dioxide companies still exist, and many are holding prices steady while observing the market. As the golden September and October seasons approach, there is an expectation of stockpiling in the market, and suppliers have no intention of continuing to sell at low prices, leading to an increase in quoted prices. So far, the price of sulfate process rutile titanium dioxide in China is mostly between 13,200-14,200 CNY/ton; anatase type is around 11,700-12,500 CNY/ton, with actual transaction prices negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
III. Market Forecast
Titanium dioxide analysts believe: This week, the focus of China's titanium dioxide market has shifted upwards. Titanium dioxide companies are under cost pressure, and their quotations remain firm. However, after the downstream sector has stocked up earlier, there is a lack of willingness to purchase recently, and the market is mostly in a wait-and-see mode. It is expected that in the short term, the titanium dioxide market will mainly maintain a firm operation, with actual transaction prices negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
