This Week's Activated Carbon Prices Decline (5.4-5.8) in China
May 8th News
According to the commodity market analysis system: At the beginning of the week, the price of activated carbon in China was 12,933 CNY/ton, and by the end of the week, it had decreased to 12,866 CNY/ton, a drop of 0.52%.
Chinese coconut shell activated carbon prices from manufacturers increased this week. The factory price for coconut shell activated carbon used for water purification in East China is between 9,500 and 13,000 CNY/ton. For columnar coal-based activated carbon with an iodine value of around 1,000, the price is between 8,200 and 9,500 CNY/ton. The supply of coconut shells from Southeast Asia remains tight, but the impact of new maritime regulations (hazardous goods declaration) has diminished, leading to a decrease in the price of imported carbonized materials, which has alleviated cost pressure.
Southeast Asian coconut shell arrivals are stable, with charred material prices weakening and costs falling. In terms of supply and demand, manufacturers in China are operating normally. The demand for water treatment and exhaust gas is average, and the willingness to stockpile is weak. Regarding transportation, the cost of maritime shipping for hazardous materials is stable, with no additional charges.
Prediction: The trading volume of coconut shell activated carbon in China is below expectations, and with the prices of raw materials declining from their peak, it is expected that the price of activated carbon may mainly fluctuate in the short term.
