SABIC launches polyol for castable polyurethane
Recently, SABIC announced that the company has launched the NORYL AP2001G polyol for castable polyurethane (PU) applications, which can overcome the current polyurethane by partially replacing polypropylene glycol (PPG) or polytetramethylene ether glycol (PTMG) in the material. In the application, it is difficult to improve the hardness and elasticity of the cast polyurethane system at the same time, thereby improving its performance.
NORYL AP2001G polyol also has the characteristics of oil resistance, moisture resistance, abrasion resistance, tear resistance and high temperature resistance, which help polyurethane parts to withstand extreme environmental conditions and extend their service life. Potential applications of the material include mining drill bits, screens, and pipeline protective linings for mud transportation; hydraulic, robotic, and transportation equipment components; and wheels, casters, and rollers.
SABIC Senior Business Development Manager Antonello Cerullo said: "The successful launch of the NORYL AP2001G polyol for castable polyurethane once again demonstrates that SABIC has always been committed to promoting the development of materials science and responding to unmet needs in the entire value chain. This technology is Stakeholders have brought many benefits. For formulators, it provides a new way to allow designers to develop new and distinctive products; for end users, it can improve parts and equipment Durability to avoid costly downtime. At the same time, by extending the tank life of polyurethane and slowing down its reactivity. NORYL AP2001G polyol gives processors greater flexibility and more precise dimensional control capabilities, thereby improving production efficiency ."
