Shanghai Petrochemical produces high-performance linear membrane material particles

Recently, Shanghai Petrochemical realized the industrial production of high-performance linear film particles for packaging bag manufacturing. The first batch of new products of 2,600 tons of linear film particles is expected to replace similar imported products to fill the domestic gap and provide more choices for the downstream market.

It is understood that the No. 4 polyethylene plant of the Plastics Department adopts the linear film particles produced by Borealis' bimodal technology, which is a high-performance raw material for plastic packaging bags. With the advancement of Sinopec and other companies in the thinning of heavy film packaging bags, the requirements for the quality of heavy film are getting higher and higher. The packaging bag produced by mixing this kind of particles in the raw material will not reduce the strength and friction resistance of the packaging bag itself while the thickness is reduced.

In mid-August, the first batch of 2,600 tons of linear film products came off the production line and will be sent to downstream packaging bag manufacturers for the first processing in the near future. At present, the domestic market consumes about 10,000 tons of linear membrane particles per month. After Shanghai Petrochemical’s new products are officially launched on the market, they can fill the domestic gap in this market and have a competitive advantage in logistics cost and delivery cycle stability.
