Covestro Lifts Force Majure for Polymeric MDI
Covestro is lifting force majeure for polymeric MDI in its Europe, Middle East, Africa business region with immediate effect, the materials company announced 22 May.
The Leverkusen, Germany-based company declared force majeure due to what it described as a “an unforeseeable production problem” at its site in Brunsbuttel, Germany.
The company said that despite all its efforts to improve product availability for polymeric MDI, supply will “continue to be tight for some time, due in particular to a currently strong demand.”
Additionally, Covestro said it needs to prepare for a plant turnaround at the facility which is legally required.
