The price of eggs has risen by 67 cents per kilogram. There is still room to rise in the near future.

After the Spring Festival, the price of fresh eggs dropped to less than 3 yuan per kilogram (1 kilogram = 500 grams). During the Qingming Festival, the price of fresh eggs stopped rising and showed signs of warming up. Reporters visited the market yesterday to see that the price of eggs has risen to 3.5 to 3.7 yuan per catty.

Yesterday morning, reporters in the urban physical south farming market and railway station comprehensive market saw that the price of eggs is generally 3.6 to 3.7 yuan per kilogram, which is two-thirds higher than before the festival. In supermarkets where the promotion is relatively strong, the price of eggs has also risen obviously: Dennis Market price is 3.49 yuan per kilogram; Dadeyuan supermarket price is 3.58 yuan per kilogram; Golden Basket supermarket price is 3.45 yuan per kilogram. In the period before the Qingming Festival, eggs do not exceed 3 yuan per kilogram.

Reporters learned in the interview that the price of eggs began to show a festival rise before the Qingming Festival. "It's time to rise too. Every year there are fluctuations around the Qingming Festival." Tinan Agricultural Market fresh eggs shop owner Ms. Tao told reporters. Several fresh egg merchants said that, if not accidentally, the recent drop in egg prices is unlikely. Moreover, according to previous years'experience, the market demand for eggs is increasing near May 1st and Dragon Boat Festival, and there is still room for prices to rise.
