DL Chemical acquired Kraton for US$2.5 billion

ECHEMI 2021-09-29

American Kraton said on the 27th that DL Chemicals will acquire 100% of Kraton's shares in an all-cash transaction with a transaction value of US$2.5 billion.

According to the agreement, Kraton shareholders will receive US$46.50 in cash per share of Kraton's common stock. Compared with Kraton's market valuation as of the beginning of July, the premium is 50%.

DL Chemical said that Kraton's specialty polymers and bio-based chemicals business can provide customers with a wider range of products and serve various end markets.

Kraton’s board of directors unanimously approved the merger agreement and recommended that shareholders vote for the transaction. The acquisition is expected to end in the first half of 2022.
