Givaudan acquires American natural color company DDW
Recently, Givaudan (Givaudan) official website announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire American natural color company DDW, which is part of Givaudan's strategy to expand its global flavor and health business portfolio.
Headquartered in Kentucky, USA, DDW is a leading private company in the natural color industry. Founded in 1865, DDW has 12 manufacturing plants and 315 employees worldwide. The company has been focusing on natural colors for the food and beverage industry for the past 20 years, and has relatively market-leading capabilities in caramel colors.
The company was founded in 1865 and has a history of more than 150 years. In the early days, it was mainly engaged in malt for brewing, and then gradually developed into a caramel coloring company to serve the soft drink market. In the past 20 years, DDW has focused strongly on the natural pigment industry and served the food and beverage industry.
The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed, and Givaudan plans to fund the transaction through debt, which is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2021.
“I am excited about the opportunity to bring together the strong heritage and capabilities of DDW in natural colours with Givaudan's expanded portfolio, which is fully in line with our 2025 strategy. The combination of both companies will enable us to become a global leader in natural colours and strengthen our ability to create with our customers multi-sensorial food experiences consumers love. We look forward to welcoming the DDW employees to the Givaudan family."
Louie D’Amico, President of Taste & Wellbeing at Givaudan.
