Givaudan opens collaborative high-end fragrance center in China
Givaudan has opened its first high-end fragrance creative center in Shanghai, China. L'Appartement 125 will enable the Swiss beauty supplier to collaborate with Chinese brands to create fragrances, hoping to set new standards for fragrance development in the region.
"By engaging local talent and fostering innovation, Givaudan aims to create a vibrant community of fragrance creators," Givaudan said in a statement.
L'Appartement 125 includes a fully functional lab, interactive scent wall and sensory garden. Perfumers will have access to the company's olfactory palette, which includes Chinese ingredients.
"The dedicated high-end fragrance team, led by talented perfumer Jasmine Liu, will be permanently based in Shanghai, working closely with our global high-end fragrance team," said Xavier Renard, Givaudan's global head of high-end fragrances. "We will ensure that these collaborations generate new ideas and concepts that allow us to further push the boundaries of high-end fragrances."
The center will also provide insights into the latest trends in the Chinese beauty market, including the growing demand for "personalized and high-end fragrances."
Gilles Andrier, CEO of Givaudan, said: “Since entering the Chinese market in 1988, Givaudan has experienced remarkable growth and transformation. China is not only an important market for us, but also a great source of inspiration and innovation. The unique cultural heritage and evolving consumer preferences here drive us to create fragrances that resonate deeply with local consumers. As we continue to invest in this dynamic market, we remain committed to building partnerships that reflect the essence of China’s vibrant fragrance industry.”
