Bluestar Dongda intends to expand the production capacity of low VOC polyols

Bluestar Dongda, a subsidiary of China Chemical Group, plans to build a high-performance polyether polyol plant with an annual output of 306,000 tons in Zibo City, Shandong Province. The environmental impact assessment of the project began in March.

According to the EIA report of the project, its planned capacity includes 91 thousand and 500 tons / year high resilient foam polyol, 61 thousand tons / year soft foam polyol and 60 thousand tons / year polymer polyol. There are also 51,000 tons/year of Polyols for elastomers, 20,000 tons/year of special polyols and 22,500 tons of crosslinking agents. Bluestar Dongda has upgraded its technology and technology, and has been able to reduce VOC concentration of its polyol products to 7 ug/g, compared with 417 ug/g for Dow and 321 ug/g for Cosmic, according to the report.

The company will inject 2 billion yuan ($298 million) into the 231,000 square meters project and plan to put it into operation after two years of construction. According to the report, it will create 500 new jobs, with annual sales of 4.3 billion yuan and profits of 306 million yuan. Blue Star East University currently has 250,000 tons/year polyol production capacity, and Nanjing, Jiangsu Province is also carrying out 270,000 tons/year projects.
