In 2015, Fengning Huangqi Huang Planting Co., Ltd. drafted provincial local standards together with relevant local departments, which stipulated the terminology and definition of geographical indication product Huangqi millet, the protection scope of geographical indication product, natural environment, cultivation technology, production and processing, quality requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, signs, transportation and storage, etc. The scope of protection includes 20 townships such as Huangqi Town, Dage Town and Tucheng Town in the area under the county.

"The implementation of this standard has a significant effect on improving Millet Yield and quality safety in the 20,000 hectares of Huangqi Millet Reserve in Fengning." Huangqi Town Party Secretary Zhao Jinyu said.

"Our millet in Huangqi Town is delicious, and the price is more expensive than ordinary millet."
