Colaine showed more sustainable pigments, masterbatches and additives

April 22, 2019 - Clain Feisplastic 2019, a dedicated and innovative specialty chemicals company, demonstrated the product of co-creation and collaboration with customers on the central stage of Feisplastic 2019. Products bring sustainability to many markets and promote the development of plastics industry in Latin America.
In order to support the growing sustainability priorities and plans of the industry, Klein focuses on collaborative projects with customers and develops customized solutions to meet the specific needs of manufacturers, market segments and end-users without affecting function or efficiency. Clariant provides a more sustainable and holistic approach to plastic products. It provides innovations in the use of renewable raw materials and is more environmentally friendly throughout the life cycle of the product. In addition, there are safer technical solutions to help customers save energy and natural resources. Emphasis is placed on reducing complexity and resin use while improving performance. Many products have passed the certification of the Clariant Ecotain label, which shows excellent performance when evaluated in 36 sustainability criteria. The highlights of Colaine's combination of pigments, additives and masterbatches were presented at the Plastmagen exhibition (Mexico, April 2-5, 2019) and are now on display at Feisplastic 2019:
In order to support the improvement of recovery, Colaine introduced a polymer stabilizer to increase the recovery of plastic waste in the manufacture of polyolefin films. It is widely used as packaging material for food and candy, as well as for casting and blowing film technology. It prevents gel or black spot formation and protects the recovered resin from normal line running speed without causing membrane rupture. It saves the cost of raw materials by replacing the original resin with more recoverable films or resins, and is easy to feed free-flowing particles. AddWorks LXR 568, a high performance processing stabilizer, provides excellent MFR stability and excellent color protection. It provides excellent thermal stability with phenolic antioxidants. It can prevent the degradation of plastic resin, make it more durable and prolong its service life.
Clariant provides many solutions to reduce resource consumption in the production process. Hydrocerol #foaming agent can reduce the weight and density of plastic products, enhance the structure of plastic products, reduce the amount of materials discarded into the environment, and reduce energy consumption in the production process. The liquid masterbatch of colaine can also reduce energy and water consumption in the production process, and the concentration of pigments and additives can also reduce the amount of materials transported and stored.
Because of the existence of pigments such as PV Fast Yellow H4G, consumers can also benefit from the safe, sustainable and bold coloring of toys and daily necessities. Yellow organic pigments are specially designed to replace harmful lead chromate pigments, providing a safer and healthier environment for workers and product users.
Smart phones and other electronic devices maintain higher security and can benefit from EcoTain-certified Exolit #OP 1400, a halogen-free flame retardant with UL 94 VO performance as low as 0.4 mm, and can also form complex polyamide parts without die deposition. From packaging, toys, textiles to automobiles, renewable raw materials have had a positive impact in many fields. PV Fast Pink E is a kind of pigments with excellent light and weather resistance. It adds "amazing factors" to high-end applications. It features renewable raw materials that are not competitive with food. The same is true of Ecotain-certified icocare #RBW series lubricants and dispersants. Based on renewable crude rice bran wax, these agents meet some high-demand applications, such as transportation and electrical and electronic industries, by improving melt flow, reducing die release of parts and allowing more uniform distribution of pigments, providing productivity and quality benefits. Monica Ferreira Vassimon, head of Latin America in Claine, commented: "The plastic industry in Latin America is looking for ways to not only improve its sustainability, but also positively influence the diversified market for its services. Sustainability is a key factor in our collaborative projects with our customers, as well as their focus on maintaining performance and product functionality. Through cooperation, we are able to bring environmentally and productively profitable solutions to the market.
