Last year, net sales of agricultural products amounted to 300 billion yuan

In 2018, China's rural industry continued to enrich, with the rapid development of characteristic industries, more than 100,000 characteristic brands were created, and the net sales of agricultural products amounted to 300 billion yuan. The State Council's report on the development of rural industries was submitted to the 10th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress for consideration on 21 August. Entrusted by the State Council, Han Changfu, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, gave a report on the above situation. In the report, Han Changfu said that in recent years, various regions and departments concerned have thoroughly implemented the spirit of the Nineteenth National Congress of the CPC, conscientiously implemented the decision-making and deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, taken the modernization of agriculture and rural areas as the general goal, and the structural reform of the agricultural supply side as the main line, adopted a series of powerful measures to promote the development of rural industry.
At present, the development momentum of rural industry is good. With the acceleration of modern agriculture, the form of rural industry is constantly enriched, the integration of rural industry is becoming a trend, the mechanism of interest linkage is gradually built, rural innovation and entrepreneurship are becoming more and more active, and industrial poverty alleviation is steadily promoted. The report shows that the grain output in 2018 was 1315.8 billion jin, which remained above 1200 million jin for seven consecutive years. The production of cotton oil sugar, fruit vegetable fish, meat, eggs and milk is stable and sufficient. More than 79,000 agro-product processing enterprises with operating income of 14.9 trillion yuan have been established. Leisure agriculture and rural tourism have developed vigorously, receiving 3 billion tourists and operating income exceeding 800 billion yuan. In terms of the difficulties and problems faced by the development of rural industry, the report points out that the development quality and efficiency are not high, the supply of products is still dominated by road goods, the proportion of high-quality green agricultural products is low, and the phenomenon of homogeneity is widespread in leisure tourism. At the same time, the vitality of industrial factors is insufficient, the industrial chain is still relatively short, the conversion rate of agricultural products processing is only 65%, 20 percentage points lower than that of developed countries, and the industrial infrastructure is still weak.
The report proposes that we should strengthen policy support, intensify work and vigorously promote the development of rural industry. We should optimize the industrial spatial distribution, continue to strengthen modern breeding industry, vigorously promote industrial integration and development, develop and expand new business entities, focus on building industrial parks, implement quality agriculture and green agriculture, vigorously promote rural innovation and entrepreneurship, deepen industrial poverty alleviation, and improve the policy system.
