On May 8, 120 batches of medicines were found to be unqualified. Drug inspectors asked for suspension and recall. Drugstores rushed to investigate. On May 5, Hunan Provincial Pharmaceutical Regulatory Bureau issued the 2nd Announcement of Drug Quality in 2019 (hereinafter referred to as "Announcement"). According to the announcement of the food and drug regulatory departments and drug inspection institutions at all levels in Hunan Province conducted spot checks on the quality of drugs produced, managed and used in the province in order to strengthen the supervision of drug quality and ensure the safety of drug use by the public. From March to April 2019, 564 batches of drug supervision and sampling were completed in the whole province, of which 120 batches did not meet the standards and 444 batches met the standards. The announcement pointed out that the relevant food and drug supervision and administration departments have taken control measures such as seizure and seizure according to law for drugs that do not conform to the standards stipulated in the announcement, and requested enterprises to suspend the sale, use and recall of products for rectification.

Sampled units and food and drug regulatory departments in the locality of production enterprises shall, in accordance with the provisions of Articles 73, 74 and 75 of the Drug Administration Law of the People's Republic of China, file a case investigation into the illegal acts of production and sale of substandard drugs by the above-mentioned enterprises, and publicly investigate the enterprises or orders related to the production and sale of substandard drugs within three months. The results of disposal of the drugs suspected of counterfeiting in the announcement shall be clarified through relevant channels, and those suspected of constituting a crime shall be transferred to the public security department for investigation and punishment according to law.
