The Capacity of C-10 Crude Aromatic Hydrocarbons Will Increase Less

ECHEMI 2022-01-07

From 2018 to 2021, the supply and demand of the domestic industrial C-10 crude aromatic hydrocarbons market showed a steady growth trend. The output and consumption of c-10 crude aromatic hydrocarbons for industrial use grew at an average annual rate of 9.3% and 7.8% respectively. The production growth was mainly due to the rapid development of the integrated refining and chemical industry and the capacity expansion of reforming units. The demand growth was mainly due to the rapid expansion of the downstream high boiling point aromatic solvent industry.

In 2021, China National Petroleum Corporation Guangxi Petrochemical Company and other five new refineries began to release industrial c-10 crude aromatic hydrocarbons, and the total production capacity of the industry increased to 2.46 million tons. East China has always been the most concentrated region, and also a relatively concentrated area of new production capacity. By 2021, the production capacity of c-10 crude aromatic hydrocarbons for industrial use will account for 50.4% in East China, 17.5% in South China and 17.1% in North China.

In terms of import and export, the supply of domestic industrial c-10 crude aromatic hydrocarbons is less than demand, and there is no source of export. The import volume of industrial C-10 crude aromatic hydrocarbons will shrink due to the imposition of consumption tax on light circulating oil starting from June 12, 2021.

In 2022, the capacity of reforming plant under construction will reach 24.5 million tons, and the total annual production capacity of industrial carbon decarboxarenes will increase to 2.58 million tons/year, which is still in a tight supply state. The number of downstream enterprises with high boiling point aromatic solvent and trimethylbenzene reached 53, with an output capacity of 5.790 million tons. The distribution of downstream heavy aromatic hydrocarbons is concentrated and the number of leading customers is limited, so the market competition of heavy aromatic hydrocarbons will intensify in the future.
