Statistics of Phenol Production in China in January

In January 2022, the output of phenol was 266,700 tons, 150,000 tons more than that in December 2021, 0.57% more than that in December 2021, and 5,300 tons more than that in the same period last year, 2.03% more than that in the same period last year.

In January, the main phenolic ketone plants in China stopped for maintenance were Huizhou Zhongxin, Blue Star Halbin and Yanshan Petrochemical East plant, and the plant loss was estimated at 11,500 tons during the stop period. In addition, considering the load reduction operation of some plants, the domestic phenol loss exceeded 25,000 tons in January.

It is reported that the east unit of Yanshan Petrochemical is still in the maintenance period in February, and there is no news about the maintenance of other phenolic ketone units in China. However, there are relatively few working days in February, which affects the monthly output. It is estimated that the phenol output in China in February may decrease compared with that in January, at 220-230,000 tons, depending on the operation conditions of each phenolic ketone enterprise.
