Ministry Of Agriculture And Rural Affairs: 5 Million Mu Of Fully Biodegrbioadable Mulch To Be Promoted This Year
The Biodegradable and Recyclable Centre has been informed that spring ploughing production is currently underway from south to north across the country. The General Agricultural Ecology and Resource Conservation Station of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has sunk to the front line to provide service guidance and actively help prepare for spring ploughing.
The main work, focusing on key crops and key areas, is to promote the implementation of scientific use and recycling of mulch.
The pilot technical guidance on the scientific use and recycling of mulch in 2022 (hereinafter referred to as "the advice") was formulated and issued, focusing on the characteristics of spring ploughing production in key areas with mulch, focusing on maize, potatoes and other major food crops, vigorously promoting the scientific use of mulch technology, effectively providing technical services throughout the process and raising farmers' awareness of green production.

A pilot project on the scientific use and recycling of mulch will be launched, with 50 million mu of thickened, high-strength mulch and 5 million mu of fully biodegradable mulch to be promoted in key mulch-using areas this year, so as to systematically address the difficulties and high replacement costs of traditional mulch recycling.
The Opinions require that
Fully biodegradable mulch film shall meet the requirements of "Fully Biodegradable Agricultural Mulch Film" (GB/T 35795-2017) in terms of thickness, mechanical properties and other indicators, with the main components being aliphatic polyester, aliphatic-aromatic copolyester and other biomass materials with complete degradation characteristics, and shall not contain olefins such as polyethylene and polypropylene, and may include an appropriate proportion of starch, cellulose, etc.
The product may contain an appropriate proportion of starch, cellulose, etc., as well as other non-environmentally hazardous fillers and functional additives.
The water vapour transmission rate of the product is below 400g/(m2-24h) and the effective service life is above 60 days, the specific indicators are determined by the localities according to the crop type and production conditions.
