Yesterday, the Xi'an Survey Team of the National Statistical Bureau released data showing that in June, the consumer price of Xi'an residents (CPI) rose 2.6% year-on-year, the ring-on-ring ratio was flat; the price of fresh vegetables continued to decline, and the price of fresh melons and fruits rose. The eight categories of ring-to-ring prices show a "five-liter-three-drop". In June, food prices rose by 0.2%, non-food prices by 0.1%, consumer prices by 0.1% and service prices by 0.1%. Educational, cultural and entertainment prices rose by 0.2%, food, tobacco, alcohol, living goods, services and health care prices rose by 0.1%, while clothing, transportation and communications, other goods and services prices steadily declined by 1.2%, 0.3% and 0.3%, respectively.

Fresh vegetable prices continued to decline. In June, fresh vegetable prices continued the downward trend of last month, falling by 6.1% annually. The prices of 25 vegetables monitored were "11 liters, 1 level and 13 drops". The main reasons for the decline of fresh vegetable prices are: first, the supply of fresh vegetable market is sufficient, and the proportion of open-air vegetable supply is expanding; second, after summer, the market is dominated by local vegetable, and the production cost of local vegetable is low, which drives the price down. In addition, the price of fresh melons and fruits increased by 3.5%. In June, due to the tight supply of apple and pear markets, Apple prices rose by 28.4%, pear prices by 25.3%, banana prices by 2.2%, fresh melon and fruit prices continued to rise by 3.5%. The main reason is that apple and pear production decreased last year due to weather reasons, this year's shortage of stocks, coupled with more rainy weather in southern China this year, seasonal fresh fruit market supply is less, resulting in a sustained rise in fruit prices.

But with the large number of summer seasonal fruits such as watermelon coming on the market, fruit prices showed a downward trend, with an increase of 1.8 percentage points lower than last month.
