Anhui Bayi Chemical Co., Ltd. in Yuhui District of Bengbu City experienced a explosion accident in the process of shutdown, inspection and maintenance, which has caused the explosion at present. After preliminary understanding, the accident occurred in No. 3 raw material kettle (pressure vessel, front end of membrane filter, hydrogenation reaction buffer tank) in the company's para-aminophenol plant area. Two constructors from Jiangsu Xinsheng Construction Engineering Co., Ltd., a foreign construction unit, had an accident when they dismantled the bolt and opened the manhole cover plate of No. 3 raw material kettle. Monitoring records of the central control room showed that there was an abnormal heating process at 10:21:3 for the raw material reactor, an abnormal rising process at 10:17 for the concentration of combustible gases around the reactor, and the pressure in the reactor was atmospheric. According to preliminary analysis by experts, the causes of the accident may be: hydrogen exists in No. 3 raw material reactor, hydrogen mixes with air when opening the manhole cover plate, sparks or static electricity of human body caused by impact of iron tools, shock waveguide causes one person to die at the manhole platform, one person to fall about 2 meters in height difference. The lower platform was injured. The specific cause of the accident is under further investigation. After the accident happened, Deng Xiangyang, Standing Committee of the Provincial Committee and Standing Vice Governor of the Provincial Committee, issued a directive demanding that great attention should be paid to it. There have been many such accidents in the whole province, and Bengbu City has repeatedly happened. We must resolutely prevent them. We should sum up and analyze the causes, learn from them, take resolute measures and never undermine them.

In addition, on June 28, 2019, a suffocation and deflagration accident occurred in Huaishang Branch of Anhui Maiqi Chemical Co., Ltd., located in Mohekou Industrial Park, Huaishang District, Bengbu City.
