Coal Storage in Key Power Plants Falling Down Will Become Better

coal-management

Affected by the coming of high temperature weather in China, the daily consumption of power plants has increased, and the number of coal stored in key power plants has finally declined for a long time. As of July 24, 89.61 million tons of coal were stored in key power plants nationwide, down 2.07 million tons from 91.68 million tons on July 16 at the peak, and the available days of coal storage decreased from 24 days to 23 days.

Up to now, the six coastal power plants have stored 17.6 million tons of coal, consuming 803,000 tons per day, and the available days for coal storage are 21 days. The amount of coal stored has decreased by 1.02 million tons and increased by 169,000 tons per day compared with July 10, the highest point this year. Although the daily consumption of the six major coastal power plants has been above 700,000 tons for five consecutive days, and has risen to above 800,000 tons, which is close to the same period last year, the number of coal reserves has increased by 2.85 million tons and the number of days available for coal storage has increased by 4 days. Although the civil power load in the South increased, the demand for industrial power in summer fell far short of market expectations due to environmental protection restrictions on production and the decline in the start-up rate of enterprises. At present, the daily consumption of power plants has increased sharply, but affected by the high inventory level of downstream power plants, most users are actively consuming inventory and maintaining rigid haulage of Changxie Coal. It is expected that the coal market will not perform well in the next few days; in the first half of summer, the benefits of high temperature are limited. At the same time as the coal storage of power plants declined, the inventory of ports around the Bohai Sea was still increasing. As of yesterday, a total of 25.83 million tons of coal had been stored in the ten major ports around the Bohai Sea, an increase of 3.44 million tons compared with the beginning of July, a new record of coal storage in the ports around the Bohai Sea since this year. Since July, the precipitation in the two lakes area has been larger, the water inflow is more abundant, and the output of hydropower has increased significantly. Especially, the full-load power generation of the Three Gorges, the absorption of hydropower in coastal areas has increased significantly, and the thermal power has been reduced, which has also contributed to the phenomenon of low season in the coal market to a certain extent. At present, most parts of the country have entered the baking mode in an all-round way. Continuous high temperature weather has promoted the rapid rise of electricity load in the whole society, and the national multi-site electricity load has refreshed the historical record. With the increase of daily consumption of downstream power plants, TRADERS'tender sentiment rises and market sentiment warms up slightly. However, due to the high inventory of downstream power plants, even if daily consumption rises sharply, the inventory of power plants decreases slowly, resulting in less release of coal demand, low downstream pick-up level, no obvious change in inquiry volume, and the actual trading of coal. Carbon prices are rising sluggishly.

Eastern China has a wide range of high temperatures, high intensity and increased coal consumption. It is expected that after August, some COAL-STORED power plants will begin to increase their market purchases in a planned way. In order to meet the needs of "buying up, not buying down" and replenishment of warehouses, they will rush to northern ports to haul coal, which will further boost the coastal coal market. The number of coal deliveries at ports has increased, and coal transportation along the coast has become busy.
