Leisure-Agriculture

As a traditional agricultural town with 80% wetland area and the largest per capita arable land area in the whole region, where is the way out for strengthening the countryside and enriching the people?

This is a question that the leadership of Huangzhuang Township in Baodi District of Tianjin has been thinking about. Over the years, they have built factories, farmed and traveled, and explored many ways to develop regional economy. Among them, relying on the original historical and cultural resources of Xiaoxin Wharf Village, playing cultural cards, developing leisure and sightseeing agriculture, has found a way to enrich the people. Xiao Village Activated by DIY Rice Commune

Huangzhuang Township is located in the southeast of Baodi District. It is one of the three wetlands in the city. It has 19 administrative villages with 11,200 people. Population and village density are the rarest in Tianjin Plain area. Huangzhuang is situated in a large depression with abundant water resources and vertical and horizontal canals. But because it is a big agricultural township, the total economic output in the region has always lagged behind. To mention these, Kang Dehong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Huangzhuang Township, looks a little heavy. He said, "Wind and water take turns and come to my house this year. In the past, our natural conditions were relatively inferior, but now more and more people are pursuing natural and original life. In this way, the short board becomes our strength. So we have to find ways to turn the advantage of backwardness into economic advantage and the ecological environment into economic benefit. Kang Dehong told reporters that for many years, they had been trying to develop tourism, but they could not find a breakthrough.

An accidental opportunity, we collided with the idea that Huangzhuang has a long history of rice cultivation, with an area of 60,000 mu. We want to rely on the experience of rice resources development tourism projects, to inject brand into agriculture, to inject characteristics into agriculture, and to inject culture into agriculture. Set leisure, picking, sightseeing, recognition and adoption, farming culture as one. In April 2010, we launched the "DIY Rice Commune" project in Xiaoxin Wharf Village to promote our rice through tourism development. Kang Dehong introduced to reporters. Xiaoxin Wharf Village, located on the Bank of Chaobai New River, is rich in rice since ancient times, known as the "Beiguo Waterfront". In the first phase of the rice commune project, Xiaoxin Wharf Village has developed 100 mu of paddy fields. Every member of the community who pays a membership fee of 700 yuan per year has the right to cultivate a paddy field. After subscribing for land, he can enjoy the pleasure of transplanting and harvesting in the commune. It doesn't matter if the members don't grow land. The local farmers can teach and manage the land by hand. At the same time, in order to facilitate the in-depth experience of the vast number of tourists, Xiaoxin Wharf Village has also built 22 farmyards with complete supporting facilities for tourists to experience the pleasure of sleeping in the farmhouse Kang and eating farm meals. According to reports, at present, the rice commune has absorbed 260 members, and 22 farmyards in the village have received more than 40,000 tourists continuously.

"Before, the annual profit of one mu of land was 4,500 yuan. Now, after our land has been claimed, one mu of land can earn about 6,000 yuan. It's more than ten times more than that." The villagers'old horses laughed from ear to ear.

Everything from environment to idea will change

from the beginning to Xiaoxin Wharf Village. It is difficult for journalists to connect it with a tourist village under construction. Although the construction scene can be seen everywhere, but there is no noise, no strong commercial flavor, still quiet and peaceful. But the data provided to us by the village is solid. Since April last year, more than 40,000 tourists have visited the small village. In this small village, there are only more than 80 families. It's not very easy to come from the city. Why do so many tourists choose this place? The answer of Hong Fengguo, Secretary of the Party branch of the village, is somewhat surprising: "Tourists are changing us rather than attracting tourists here." The change begins with the external environment. They built the whole village as a scenic spot. Bridges, pavilions and warehouses are primitive in shape and complement each other with the surrounding environment. A special working group on agricultural leisure tourism has been set up in this township, and the work has been carried out in many aspects. The Chaobai River levee leads to Xiaoxin Wharf Village. The roads in the village have been hardened and greened. While renovating toilets, kitchens, restaurants and other facilities in 22 characteristic farmyards, service reception training is also being carried out in an orderly manner. The change of village appearance is continuing. Secretary Hong said: "This year we will build a corridor, a water system wharf around the village, and several pavilions for visitors to rest. The main body of the visitor reception center project has been completed. It is a two-storey antique building structure with functions of leisure and entertainment, mini-conference, farming and folk culture exhibition, etc. The layout will be completed in early July and visitors can be received by August at the latest.

Hardware is improving and software can not lag behind. Huangzhuang Township has thoroughly renovated the environmental sanitation of the whole Township and established a sound long-term mechanism. Since 2009, more than 10 million yuan has been invested in village environmental renovation, with 6500 manpower, 1800 vehicles and more than 10,000 garbage disposal. The township government has formulated the Rural Environmental Sanitation Management and Evaluation Measures of Huangzhuang Township. Professional cleaning teams have been set up at the township and village levels, and the environmental sanitation management system has been formulated. The township government has also set up a village-level environmental health inspection and evaluation team, which evaluates the environmental health of each village once a month, and awards village cadres and cleaners according to the evaluation results. Through the effective implementation of centralized renovation and long-term measures, the broad masses of the township pay attention to hygiene and protection.
