Linde Opens First Automated Gas Filling Plant in Malaysia
Linde Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a member of The Linde Group has launched its first modular automated industrial gases cylinder filling plant in South Asia and ASEAN, located in Banting, Malaysia.
This latest key milestone reaffirms Linde’s position as a long-term investor in Malaysia and as the leading industrial air and medical gases supplier.
The modular design of the cylinder filling plant allows for expansion of capacity to meet the future needs of the market. The plant was fully commissioned in the first quarter of 2017. The plant construction was completed on time, within budget, and without an incident, throughout the 390,000 construction hours while maintaining supplies to customers.
The launch of Linde Malaysia’s automated cylinder filling plant in Banting was graced by Second Minister of International Trade and Industry, YB Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Chuan and representatives from Invest KL.
“Linde continues to see growth opportunities in Asia. I am pleased to note that in the past two years alone, Linde has invested over MYR1 billion (€230 million) to further strengthen our leadership in the industrial gas industry and to support our customers in their growth plans, while delivering sustainable and profitable growth for our shareholders,” said Sanjiv Lamba, chief operating officer for Asia Pacific and member of the executive board of Linde AG.
Sharing the significance of the newly launched plant, Connell Zhang, Managing Director, Linde Malaysia, said,

Our Banting plant serves as a centre of excellence for the industrial gases industry in Malaysia, with cost competitive, advanced cylinder filling world-class technologies and innovative solutions, industry-leading safety features and environment-friendly best practices,” added Connell Zhang, managing director, Linde Malaysia.
